During the evening guests were treated to three courses of fine dining, after-dinner drinks, dancing and entertainment from globally renowned acts Jessie Ware and Red Bull’s Flying Steps. The silent auction featured a range of money can’t buy prizes including a private jet flight, exclusive tickets to the Monaco and British Formula One Grand Prix, a coaching session with Twenty20 captain Stuart Broad, a holiday to Barbados, a mini break to Monaco.

The unbelievable and unique talent of mouth artist Keith Jansz inspired guests as he painted live at the event. Jansz, who is a member of the Mouth and Foot Painting Arists (MFPA), lost the use of his hands and legs in a tragic road accident in 1995, and was left paralysed from the neck down. Some of Jansz’s remarkable work was also donated to the silent auction and a total of 215,000 euro was raised for spinal cord injury research.

In 2004, Heinz Kinigadner founded the Wings for Life Spinal Cord Research Foundation after his son was left paralyzed due to an injury to his spinal cord. Wings for Life supports and finances the most promising research projects worldwide aimed at healing the injured spinal cord. An international scientific advisory board, consisting of the world’s most renowned scientists and medical doctors from the relevant areas, helps Wings for Life to select the most promising research projects.

The world’s leading scientists agree that paraplegia, caused by a traumatic spinal cord injury, will be curable one day. For a major breakthrough in science to be achieved, a lot of research needs to be done so if you would like to make a donation please click here or to find out more about the Wings for Life foundation please visit http://www.wingsforlife.com/en-gb/
