In India a little goes a very long way… to give you an idea:

  •  £16 will subsidise a cataract surgery at Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital in Bihar, India
  •  £35 will cover the entire cost of a cataract surgery under the Mission for Vision programme in India
  •  £40 will cover the entire cost of a cataract surgery under the Mission for Vision programme In Nigeria
  •  £570 will construct a well and improve the income generation capacity of  2-3 poor farmers.

*Please note that the cost of a cataract surgery varies from region to region due to factors such as security, provision of doctors and cost of resources.

There are many ways in which you can become a donor of The Savitri Waney Charitable Trust and enhance the lives of the poor in India.

About the charity:

The Savitri Waney Charitable Trust was founded in 2001 by Mr Arjun Waney, a philanthropist and businessman of Indian origin, in honour of his late mother Mrs Savitri Waney. Arjun and his family decided to consolidate their resources and form this Trust through which they could support and monitor their charitable activities.
