Bluebird

A veritable West London institution, Bluebird is the go-to King’s Road venue for after work cocktails, European dishes and a glass of wine on the sunny outdoor terrace. Located in the heart of the shopping quarter makes it ideal for a mid-shop lunch, although the champagne afternoon tea may lead to more impulse buys than originally intended!

Amuse Bouche

Just down the road in pretty Parsons Green, a visit to this renowned champagne bar is a wonderful excuse to indulge in a glass (or bottle) of the bubbly stuff. The small interior means booking is recommended on weekend evenings, though you can always prop up the bar while enjoying their live music sets too.

The Botanist

Smack bang in the centre of the action on Sloane Square, Modern British brasserie-style restaurant The Botanist is popular all day long for their tasty breakfast menu (we recommend the buttermilk pancakes with smoked streaky bacon and maple syrup), and sophisticated lunch and dinner dishes such as grilled lobster and wild Suffolk venison. The cocktail list is also worth a try.

Big Easy

Despite all the exclusive fine dining options in Chelsea, sometimes all you want is some hearty, belly-busting American food. When this mood strikes head to Big Easy on the King’s Road, for big burgers, BBQ’d pork ribs, jumbo shrimp and lobster bake. Make sure you arrive with a hefty appetite.

Cheyne Walk Brasserie

A proper slice of Provence in the heart of Chelsea, the Cheyne Walk Brasserie is beloved by locals and tourists alike, who flock here to enjoy French fare in a sunny dining room with river views. Perfect for a romantic date, the menu is packed with great Gallic dishes including frogs legs, escargot, beef tartare and steak, plus the wine list is pretty comprehensive. Come on a Sunday or a Monday evening for 30% off the bill too.

Geales

A must-visit for any proper fans of fish n’ chips, Geales on Cale Road follows on from the Notting Hill original by serving up a mouthwatering selection of seafood at this upmarket restaurant. Start your meal with homemade fishcakes, mussels in cider or Whitby Bay shellfish soup and continue with their famous beer-battered cod or haddock with chunky chips and perfectly mushy peas. What’s more, on Wednesdays they do a deal with mussels, chips and a bottle of ale for just £12.50. Bargain!

Rabbit

The second London outpost from the Gladwin Brothers (who also run The Shed in Notting Hill), rustic Rabbit restaurant sticks to the same sustainable ethos as the original, focusing on British and foraged ingredients from the family farm in Sussex. The food has won over even the harshest of critics, and with dishes such as kohlrabi carpaccio and raw scallops with black summer truffle on the menu it isn’t so hard to see why.

Kurobuta

Originally a temporary pop up version of the Kurobuta in Marble Arch, this trendy Japanese restaurant proved so popular in Chelsea that it moved to a permanent site in April 2015. Since then they’ve gone from strength to strength with crowd-pleasing Japanese dishes including sushi, sashimi, steamed buns and much more.

Colbert

Across the road from The Botanist on Sloane Square, the venerable Chelsea restaurant Colbert feels almost as old as the area itself. Decorated in the classic Parisian brasserie style with a section of good people-watching tables on the pavement outside, it’s the ideal place to enjoy a Croque Monsieur from the all-day menu while sipping a Kir Royale and seeing the world go by.
