The Christmas adverts have officially made their way onto our screens, our favourite drinking destinations are winning us over with their festive cocktails and at last the streets of our city are shining bright with Christmas lights.

From Carnaby Street to Covent Garden, here are the most dazzling displays that London has to offer throughout the festive season.

1. Carnaby Street

Earlier this month, Carnaby Street threw the party of the season. Their Christmas carnival- themed display this year meant there was only one way to celebrate the launch of the lights…host a real carnival for the public to enjoy. Marvel at the parakeets and palm trees whilst getting through some Christmas shopping.

2. Seven Dials

Lose yourself on the Seven Dials’ cobbled streets as these particular Christmas lights will transport you to a winter wonderland full of restaurants, shops and cosy cafes.

‘The Spirit of Christmas’ Regent Street installation has returned for 2017 with new colours and over 300,000 glistening lights to brighten the most popular shopping street of our city. Inspired by the first ever Central London Christmas lights display in 1954, the angelic spirits shine brightly above you for the entire length of the street.

5. Covent Garden

Covent Garden’s Christmas display welcomes the return of the beloved reindeer statue and promises to put a smile on your face this Winter. Wander through twinkling lights, garlands of mistletoe and gigantic bows, all perfectly placed around the indoor market.

6. New Bond Street

The Peacock-inspired lights of New Bond Street have returned for another year. From Fendi to Chanel, these illuminated feathers will guide you through the most luxurious shopping street of London.

7. Leicester Square

The hot spot for street talent and entertainment, Leicester Square has opened its very own traditional Christmas market. With over 25 stalls and dangling lights hanging from the trees, the square is transformed into a festive haven.

8. Oxford Street

Christmas lights coat the trees and shops that run along Oxford Street. Partnering with children’s charity the NSPCC once again, Oxford Street will make you want to find any excuse to indulge in a spot of retail therapy, just to enjoy the lights along the way.

10. Kingston

Kingston’s very own Candy Cane Forest has officially come to life this Christmas. Gold and red baubles make for the most delightful tree to greet you upon arrival, while glowing lights guide you through the side streets and Christmas markets.

11. St. Katherine Docks – 23rd Nov

Join Mr David Suchet, a.k.a Poirot, on Marble Quay this Thursday for the switching on of the St. Katherine Docks Christmas lights. Performances by the City Chamber Choir will be the perfect form of entertainment to accompany the mulled wine, mince pies and hot chocolate that will be available.
